The Conneaut Spartans will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Northwestern Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Conneaut will be strutting in after a victory while Northwestern will be coming in after a defeat.
Conneaut took care of business in their home opener on Saturday. They came out on top against Horizon Science Academy by a score of 66-54.
Chance Loomis went supernova for Conneaut, scoring 27 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of J.R. Hutchison, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Northwestern had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were outmatched by Lakeview on the road and fell 58-25.
Conneaut's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Northwestern, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Conneaut beat Northwestern 62-51 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Does Conneaut have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northwestern turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
