The Northridge Grizzlies had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 67-46 margin over Niwot. The victory was just what Northridge needed coming off of a 85-46 loss in their prior match.
Northridge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drake Walker, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Walker hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Louis Pisano, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
Niwot lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brighton Langenegger, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Langenegger continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Stenz, who scored 12 points.
Northridge's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Niwot, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northridge will take on Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Skyline is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Niwot, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Mountain View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday.
