The Manchester Township Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell to Wall Township 70-66. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
When it comes to explaining why Manchester Township lost, one person who can't be blamed is Devyn Quigley. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 42 points and 12 rebounds. Quigley scored a full 63.6% of Manchester Township's points, the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline Nolan, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Manchester Township's defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-4. As for Wall Township, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Manchester Township will head out on the road to face off against Southern Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wall Township, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Long Branch at 4:00 p.m.
