Catelyn Swanepoel made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. The Old Abes fell just short of the Riverhawks by a score of 9-8. The Old Abes haven't had much luck with the Riverhawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
New Richmond's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Eau Claire Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
