Meanwhile, St. Michael Catholic beat Elberta 2-0 on Thursday. Give St. Michael Catholic's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

St. Michael Catholic's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those seven games. As for Spanish Fort, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3-4.

Everything went Spanish Fort's way against St. Michael Catholic in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, as Spanish Fort made off with a 6-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Toros since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
