If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Carlisle. On Friday they take on Gilbert at 4:45 PM. Both of those teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
Carlisle have to be aching after a bruising 7-32 defeat to Norwalk last Friday. This makes it the second loss in a row for Carlisle.
Meanwhile, we expected Gilbert to have trouble with the significantly higher ranked Ballard, and they did. Gilbert ended up on the wrong side of a painful 23-48 walloping at Ballard's hands. Gilbert were down by 10-35 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Carlisle took their matchup against Gilbert the last time the two teams met by a conclusive 57-29 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carlisle since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
