Accelerated Prep is ranked highly in their home state and on Sunday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Balboa. Accelerated Prep escaped with a win against the Balboa Roughriders by the margin of a single free throw, 85-84. Accelerated Prep's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Balboa's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Apolo Caetano, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 assists. Those 18 points gave Caetano a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Benjamin Hadziabdic, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 21 points.

With the victory, Accelerated Prep broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-4. As for Balboa, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
