Softball Recap: Glenbard North Wins Going Away Against Wheaton-Warrenville South

Glenbard North lost to Wheaton-Warrenville South back in April, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Panthers blew past the Tigers 12-3. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Avery Miller was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, Lauren Kozlovsky was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Tru Medina was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

Glenbard North lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least four home runs in three consecutive matches.

Glenbard North's record now sits at 13-4. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.

Glenbard North and Wheaton-Warrenville South should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Panthers (ranked 23rd) will meet Waubonsie Valley (ranked 344th) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Wheaton-Warrenville South will square off against Downers Grove North at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (32 vs. 99). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3, the Trojans 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
