After two games on the road, Reseda is heading back home. They will take on the Sylmar Spartans at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Reseda will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 582nd, while Sylmar is ranked 255th).
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Reseda walked away with it. They won by a goal and slipped past the Pirates 2-1. The victory was just what Reseda needed coming off of a 5-1 defeat in their prior contest.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Mark Zuniga and
Jefferson Parada, who scored both of Reseda's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 27 so far this season.
Meanwhile, Sylmar and Van Nuys finished up their contest with a 1-1 draw.
The win got Reseda back to even at 8-8-5. Sylmar's draw makes their record 12-5-5 this season.
Reseda suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Sylmar in their previous meeting back in January. Will Reseda have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more soccer content.
