Scholars Guild Academy's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Peachtree Academy Panthers 76-50. The Spartans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Peachtree Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Rodriguez, who went 8 of 16 en route to 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Jackson, who posted 13 points.

Scholars Guild Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Peachtree Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scholars Guild Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Killian Hill Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. After both having extra time off, Peachtree Academy and New Creation Christian Academy will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. New Creation Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Peachtree Academy likes a good challenge.
