Softball Recap: Quartz Hill Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

While Quartz Hill put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Palmdale. Everything went the Quartz Hill Royals' way against the Palmdale Falcons as the Quartz Hill Royals made off with a 12-0 win. Considering the Royals have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Hailey Vong made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Quartz Hill got a massive performance out of Zoe Hart, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Rylee Christensen, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-1.

Quartz Hill pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Palmdale, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Quartz Hill will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Eastside at 3:15 p.m. on April 1st. After both having extra time off, Palmdale and Littlerock will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field one another at 3:15 p.m. on April 1st.
