The Mt. Eden Monarchs came tearing into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 64-57 win over Tennyson. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Tennyson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Larrie Noble, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jose Tecua, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Mt. Eden has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-12 record this season. As for Tennyson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Eden will take on the Jets at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Tennyson, they will be playing at home against the Dons at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
