After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Thales Academy Apex, St. Thomas More Academy was happy to have turned things around  on Monday. They won by a  run and slipped past the Neuse Christian Academy Lions  7-6. The Chancellors haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive  win against them.

 Nello Caparoni made a splash while hitting and pitching. He  struck out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and five unearned) runs off   seven  hits (and only one walk). With that strong performance,  he is now averaging an impressive 5.5  strikeouts per game. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, four  RBI,  and two  runs. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in March of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Gavin Sandner was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. With that strong performance,  he is now averaging an impressive 1.3  stolen bases per game.  Drew Sandner was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
 St. Thomas More Academy was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .375. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
St. Thomas More Academy's first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Neuse Christian Academy, their  defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. St. Thomas More Academy will  challenge  rival Thales Academy Rolesville  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Neuse Christian Academy is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Thales Academy Apex  at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday.
