Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up eight more assists than your opponent, a fact the Desert Hills Thunder proved on Wednesday. They came out on top against Cedar by a score of 64-52. The win made it back-to-back wins for Desert Hills.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Desert Hills to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Rasmussen, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chaz Holbrook, who scored 13 points.
Carson Visser and Easton Albrecht certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Visser scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Albrecht scored 16 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Visser has scored all season. Jonathan Jeter was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Desert Hills' victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-8. As for Cedar, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert Hills will take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hurricane is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Cedar, they will head out on the road to challenge the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
