Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Linden's 15th in Last 16 Outings

Linden barely beat Big Valley Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Linden put the hurt on Big Valley Christian with a sharp 15-9 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for Linden, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Linden got a massive performance out of Lily Alonso, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Alonso has posted since back in May of 2024. Audrey Pitt was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Linden kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Linden is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Big Valley Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-18.

Linden and Big Valley Christian are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Lions will be playing at home against Lindhurst at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Linden is on a nine-game streak of home wins, the Blazers a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. As for Big Valley Christian, they will square off against Stone Ridge Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
