Baseball Recap: Shenango Extends Winning Streak to Three

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shenango). They put the hurt on the Aliquippa Quips with a sharp 23-6 victory on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Shenango got a massive performance out of Trey Ross, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Ross also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season. Dominic Dando was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Shenango kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Shenango's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Aliquippa, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shenango will take on Wilmington at 4:30 p.m. on April 2. As for Aliquippa, they will challenge Northgate at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
