After flying high against the Ten Sleep Pioneers last Friday, the Hulett Devils came back down to earth. Hulett took a serious blow against Sundance on Tuesday, falling 44-17. Hulett lost against Sundance in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 35-26 score last time.
Sundance found their leader in underclassman Jaylin Mills, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Lexie Marchant, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Hulett bumped their record down to 2-5 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.0 points per game. As for Sundance, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Hulett will be playing at home against Kaycee at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Kaycee is ranked 63rd, while Hulett is ranked 55th). As for Sundance, they will head out on the road to face off against Harding County at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Harding County is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
