After flying high against the Texhoma Red Devils last Thursday, the Cheyenne/Reydon Bears came back down to earth. Cheyenne/Reydon took a serious blow against Seiling on Friday, falling 81-40. While losing is never fun, Cheyenne/Reydon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while Seiling is ranked tenth).
Cheyenne/Reydon's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ella Powers, who scored six points. Another player making a difference was Kynli Carlson, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Cheyenne/Reydon struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Cheyenne/Reydon's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Seiling, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.
Cheyenne/Reydon won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hammon at 3:20 p.m. on January 20th. Hammon is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. Seiling won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Merritt at 6:00 p.m. on January 20th. Merritt is coming into the contest hot, having won their last ten games.
