The Green Hope Falcons won the last time they faced the Knightdale Knights, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Green Hope came out on top against Knightdale by a score of 40-33. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Green Hope.
Green Hope's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Abigail Brown led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least 25% of Green Hope's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mel Mydosh, who scored 15 points.
Ayomide Adewumi and Ja?Kiyah Moore certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Adewumi dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Moore scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. Moore scored a full 39.4% of Knightdale's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Even though they lost, Knightdale were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Green Hope only pulled down six.
Green Hope's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Knightdale, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Green Hope will take on Broughton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Knightdale, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Cleveland at 6:15 p.m. on November 28th. Hopefully Cleveland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
