Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Southwest Onslow walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over the Holmes Aces on Thursday. The result was nothing new for Southwest Onslow, who have now won ten contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Holmes with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Oriyanna Galloway (2), Payton Berg (2), and Maya Knight.

The win (which was Southwest Onslow's third in a row) raised their record to 15-3-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Holmes, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-10-1.

Looking ahead, Southwest Onslow will head out on the road to challenge Roanoke Rapids at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Southwest Onslow's defense better be ready for this one: Roanoke Rapids have averaged an impressive 4.7 goals per game this season. Holmes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
