After a string of five wins, Lamar's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost to the Bellaire Cardinals on the road by a 64-50 margin. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Texans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-60 back in January.
Shelton Henderson was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds for Bellaire. Henderson is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Anthony Andrews, who posted 14 points and five boards.
Lamar's loss dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Bellaire, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar will host Westside at 11:15 p.m. on February 8th. Westside will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Lamar surely won't give up without a fight.
