The Henderson County Colonels waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins but they left with four. They blew past Hopkinsville 68-35 at home. Given Henderson County's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Tigers are ranked 169th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Henderson County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rashia Cansler, who scored 17 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cansler has scored all season. A'tylia Green was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Henderson County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Hopkinsville, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-8.
Henderson County will square off against the Maroons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Madisonville-North Hopkins has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 186 points over their last three matches. As for Hopkinsville, they will be playing at home against the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
