Hatch Valley can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Saturday. They took down the Carrizozo Grizzlies 42-24. The Bears' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Hatch Valley can attribute much of their success to Alondra Ramirez, who posted eight points.

Hatch Valley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Carrizozo, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hatch Valley will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tucumcari at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025. As for Carrizozo, they are taking a road trip to take on Lake Arthur at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
