Carlton/Wrenshall's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Cromwell Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. on January 16th. Carlton/Wrenshall knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Cromwell likes a good challenge.
Carlton/Wrenshall can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They breezed by Floodwood on the road to the tune of 101-33. Given Carlton/Wrenshall's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 198th, while Floodwood is ranked 435th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Cromwell's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 78-59 bruising from Barnum. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Thursday (56), Cromwell still had to take the loss.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Dylan Nyberg, who scored 19 points along with six assists and six rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Dahl, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds.
Carlton/Wrenshall's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Cromwell, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season.
