Widefield is 2-8 against Harrison since December of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Gladiators will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Widefield has given up an average of 63.8 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Widefield and Coronado, and Coronado kept the tradition alive. The Gladiators fell 67-54 to the Cougars on Tuesday.

Defeat or not, Widefield got some senior leadership from Amari Taylor and Christian Peaks. Taylor posted 23 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Peaks went 6-for-12 on his way to 14 points. Taylor's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Benjamin Wallick was another key player, putting up 11 points.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Harrison, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on Canon City with a sharp 70-49 win on Tuesday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Tigers are ranked 215th).
Widefield better keep an eye on Tayten Franko. He was instrumental in Harrison's win, shooting 46% from the field to rack up 15 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. Another player making a difference was Javion Burt-Hebert, who went 5-for-11 en route to 12 points.
Harrison was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Harrison's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points over those games. As for Widefield, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Widefield and Harrison are some of the highest-scoring teams around. The Gladiators haven't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 55.3 points per game. However, it's not like Harrison struggles in that department as they've been averaging 55.7 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can put up more.
Widefield came up short against Harrison when the teams last played back in January, falling 65-54. Will the Gladiators have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
