Vernon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Tru Gipson, Carter Kieschnick, and Kayson Sanders picked up one apiece. Kieschnick is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in the last three games he's played. Vernon got some further help from Tyce Payne: he made 13 total tackles (2.5 for loss).
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Vernon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 348 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Boyd only rushed for 100.
The victory got Bowie back to even at 4-4. As for Vernon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.
