Lyla Auth made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Auth was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Addison Poole was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ella Keegan, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs.
Westerly kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Moses Brown only managed two hits.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Westerly, bringing their record up to 10-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Moses Brown, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
Looking ahead, Westerly will head out to face off against Waterford at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Moses Brown, they will welcome North Kingstown at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
