The Westerville North Warriors will face off against the Lincoln Lions at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Westerville North is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Westerville North's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Westland 16-0. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly 16 runs.
Leila Morrison made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles.

Westerville North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westland didn't got any hits.
Meanwhile, Lincoln waltzed into their game on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Greyhounds. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 16, 2024, but that streak is no more.
Grace Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.
At the plate, Kira Bailey was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Gabby Esterby, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Lincoln's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Westerville North, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Westerville North hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .388. However, it's not like Lincoln struggles in that department as they've averaged .362. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Westerville North couldn't quite finish off Lincoln when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
