Gowanda is 0-10 against Randolph since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Gowanda Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Randolph Cardinals at 7:30 p.m.
Back in December of 2023, Gowanda was beaten by Jamestown 66-37. Gowanda was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.
Meanwhile, Randolph entered their tilt with Falconer with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Randolph took their game on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 60-18 victory over Falconer. Randolph has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 39 points or more this season.
Randolph's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Gianna Bowles, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and six steals, and Skylar Herington, who scored 22 points. Bowles continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Quinn Pence was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven assists and five steals.
Gowanda bumped their record down to 1-1 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road. As for Randolph, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Gowanda came up short against Randolph in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, falling 57-44. Thankfully for Gowanda, Sydney Hvizdzak (who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
