The Coral Springs Colts will take on the Palmetto Panthers in a tournament on Tuesday. Coral Springs is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Coral Springs not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 27th. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over IMG Academy Gold. The result was nothing new for the Colts, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Angelo Painter looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Coral Springs is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-7 otherwise.
At the plate, Coral Springs' victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Guthrie, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another was Kaleb Ryen, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Coral Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Palmetto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against Highland, falling 7-0.
Palmetto also got a good showing from Brayden Arrick, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, Arrick didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.
Palmetto's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Coral Springs, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Coral Springs' speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. Coral Springs has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Palmetto, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Coral Springs continue to outrun the ball?
Coral Springs couldn't quite get it done against Palmetto when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 7-2. Will Coral Springs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
