The Prospect Ridge Academy Miners pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Plateau Valley on the road by a decisive 81-63 margin. Prospect Ridge Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Plateau Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Several Miners players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Liam Schilling, who scored 18 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Travis Agbosse, who scored 13 points along with 9 rebounds.
Jack Vig had an outrageously good game for Plateau Valley as he dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Bevan, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds.
Prospect Ridge Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Plateau Valley, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prospect Ridge Academy will take on Roaring Fork at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Roaring Fork focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. As for Plateau Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Vail Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
