The Trinity Christian Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Ursuline Academy Bears at 6:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Trinity Christian has struggled recently with 13 defeats in a row, while the Bears will arrive with four straight wins.
Last Tuesday, Trinity Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 42-37 to the Panthers. While losing is never fun, Trinity Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 993rd, while the Panthers are ranked 366th).
Even though Ursuline Academy has not done well against the Cardinals recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Ursuline Academy managed a 61-55 win over the Cardinals. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ursuline Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lily Smith, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Madelyne Davis was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Trinity Christian's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Ursuline Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.
Trinity Christian took a serious blow against the Bears when the teams last played back in January, falling 70-22. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Trinity Christian was down 41-9.
