The True North Classical Academy Titans pushed their score all the way to 34 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 40-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of King's Academy. True North Classical Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, True North Classical Academy saw an underclassman step up: Jonathan Bueno Jr. rushed for 162 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.0 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Zachary "Zac" Katz, who threw for 140 yards and a touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes.
True North Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for King's Academy, the victory was the seventh in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
True North Classical Academy will head out on the road to face off against John Carroll Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. John Carroll Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 294th, while True North Classical Academy is ranked 111th). As for King's Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Inlet Grove at 7:00 p.m. Inlet Grove is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
