The Vista PEAK Prep Bison had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They took down Rangeview 44-30. This was payback for Vista PEAK Prep, who suffered a 59-55 loss the last time these two teams met.
Vista PEAK Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amaya Nance, who scored eight points along with three steals. Nance is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Eianna Jackson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Rangeview lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being D'ajha Horton, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Horton pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Devyn Davenport, who scored six points along with three steals.
Vista PEAK Prep is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Rangeview, they have fallen quite a ways from their 16-8 record last season and are now at 4-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vista PEAK Prep the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Denver South at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Denver South focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday. As for Rangeview, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hinkley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
