Meyersdale and Windber are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Red Raiders will be playing at home against the Ramblers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meyersdale's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Windber's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Rockwood hit Meyersdale with a four-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Raiders fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Red Raiders have suffered since April 11th.

Ryan Sechler was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Meyersdale is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-7 otherwise. Sechler was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Cole Yoder was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Meyersdale's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 3-7 when he doesn't).
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Windber's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chestnut Ridge on Tuesday. The Ramblers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Windber saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Serenko, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Windber now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Meyersdale, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 7-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Meyersdale has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Windber struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Meyersdale took their win against Windber when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 10-2 score. Do the Red Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Ramblers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
