The Ramona Bulldogs will head out to  challenge the Escondido Cougars  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Friday, Ramona didn't have quite enough to beat Mt. Carmel and fell  7-6. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Sundevils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
  Serenity Hayes was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 1-for-3 with two  runs and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Evie Brown, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
Meanwhile, Escondido fought the good fight in their extra-innings  matchup against Fallbrook  on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of  3-2. The Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.
 Kendall Workman spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up nine Ks.
 At the plate, Escondido saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Abby White, who  went 2-for-4 with one  double.
 Ramona's record now sits at 7-12-1. As for Escondido, their record is now 6-12.
 Ramona took their  victory against Escondido  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024 by a conclusive  12-1 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success,  or do  the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
