The George Jenkins Eagles posted their biggest victory since December 5, 2023 on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 52-26 margin over Bartow. Given George Jenkins' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Bartow is ranked 509th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Marykate Benham, who scored 18 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Taleah Turner was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds.
George Jenkins now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Bartow, their loss was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-15.
George Jenkins won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Excel Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. As for Bartow, they will head out on the road to square off against Auburndale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
