The Kearns Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Cyprus Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Kearns scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They strolled past West Jordan with points to spare, taking the game 73-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Kearns' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Iman Finau, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Finau has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Adhau Chol, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cyprus entered their tilt with Bonneville with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Cyprus walked away with a 64-52 win over Bonneville on Monday.
Kearns is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. As for Cyprus, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
Things could have been worse for Kearns, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-33 loss to Cyprus in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Kearns avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
