The Northridge Knights will head out on the road to take on the Viewmont Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Even though Northridge has not done well against Box Elder recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Northridge secured a 64-58 W over Box Elder. The win was just what Northridge needed coming off of a 69-46 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Viewmont's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their ninth straight loss. They took a 73-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Box Elder.
Viewmont's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Drez Jensen, who scored 15 points, and Max Larsen who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Larsen has scored all season. Carson Tovey was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Even though they lost, Viewmont were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. This was only their eighth loss (out of nine games) when they've passed the ball that well.
Northridge has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-9 record this season. As for Viewmont, they bumped their record down to 1-11 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Northridge beat Viewmont 56-45 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Will Northridge repeat their success, or does Viewmont have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
