Jacob James spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mount Dora's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Crow, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles. That's the most doubles Crow has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, Bishop Moore was able to grind out a solid victory over Pine Ridge on Tuesday, taking the game 6-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.
Drew Kunz tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
At the plate, Kai Lwin was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Will Kane was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Bishop Moore hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine Ridge struck out 11 times.
Bishop Moore's win bumped their record up to 19-7. As for Mount Dora, their victory bumped their record up to 18-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mount Dora has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bishop Moore struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
