The Papillion-LaVista South Titans will challenge the Buena Vista Bison at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Papillion-LaVista South's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Buena Vista has been banged up by 18 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Papillion-LaVista South is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Papillion-LaVista, who was ranked 25th at the time (Papillion-LaVista South was ranked 16th). The Titans came out on top against the Monarchs by a score of 7-3 on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Titans have won by exactly four runs.

Papillion-LaVista South got a great performance from Cameron Curtis as he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Those ten strikeouts gave Curtis a new career-high.
At the plate, Donnie Rosenthal was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Jellen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Buena Vista lost 20-2 to Omaha South on Tuesday.
Buena Vista saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anderson Craig, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Buena Vista's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Papillion-LaVista South, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
Buena Vista's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Papillion-LaVista South has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Buena Vista, though, as they've been averaging only 3.9 strikeouts. Will Papillion-LaVista South keep running through batters, or will the Bison buck the trend?
