Kentwood has gone 9-1 against Kentridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Conquerors will host the Chargers at 4:00 p.m. Kentwood comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Kentwood is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mt. Rainier on Monday.
Joe Francis-Rodrigues was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sofia Mottern Salinas, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Kentridge never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Auburn. The match marked the Chargers' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Jozi Thompson and Genesis Miller made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Thompson pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Miller didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. At the plate, Thompson scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Miller scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Naomi Benavides was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Makenna Bennett was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases.
Kentridge hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Auburn struck out nine times.
Kentridge's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Kentwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Everything went Kentwood's way against Kentridge in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Kentwood made off with a 7-0 victory. Do the Conquerors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
