Trevor Swenson and Joshua Mayfield provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Silverado. The connection went for 71 yards, the longest such play in I Sunrise - Northeast this season.
Green Valley extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Rancho, 68-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Gators.
Las Vegas's dynamic duo of Swenson and Mayfield proved tough for the Skyhawks to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Swenson threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns and Mayfield had 114 yards receiving. Raymone Robinson helped Las Vegas' passing attack out by catching eight balls for 60 yards.
Alex Cater was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 314 yards on 47 carries as Silverado bested Silverado. Alek Aragon also contributed to the rushing game with 61 yards on the ground.
Las Vegas' Swenson and Mayfield have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading I Sunrise - Northeast in both passing and receiving yards. Swenson has thrown for 1262 yards this season, while Mayfield, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 34 catches for 465 yards. Cater from the Skyhawks leads the league in rushing with 1706 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Green Valley and Canyon Springs. The Gators enters the contest ranked fifth in the state, while the Pioneers ranks 10th.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Green Valley takes on Canyon Springs. The Gators have allowed 128 points this season, while the Pioneers have given up 82. Green Valley allowed 0 points last week as it bested the Rams.
The Wildcats and Silverado played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Wildcats eventually emerging with a 38-35 victory. Swenson in the win.
