Section 5 Monroe Division I recap Sept. 26, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Webster Thomas, who took down 148th ranked Webster Schroeder, 7-0.
The Titans moved up to 214 from 241 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 5 Monroe Division I. Webster Thomas climbed the ranks as a result of a 7-0 win over the Warriors.
Rush-Henrietta's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Royal Comets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Chauncey Scissum has thrown for 454 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Chase Weichman has 14 catches for 189 yards. Bay Barley leads the league in rushing with 327 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Rush-Henrietta takes on Gates Chili. The Royal Comets are currently in first, while the Spartans are in fourth.
Mendon/Sutherland was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to second in Section 5 Monroe Division I. The Panthers beat Penfield 35-14 earlier in the week.
