The North Knox Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Pike Central Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Knox will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 334th, while Pike Central is ranked 153rd).
North Knox has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They came out on top against Shoals by a score of 47-40 on Friday.
Meanwhile, Pike Central entered their tilt with Wood Memorial with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Pike Central enjoyed a cozy 56-42 victory over Wood Memorial on Saturday. 56 seems to be a good number for Pike Central as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pike Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Quade Morton, who scored 22 points along with two steals. Morton hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Julian Gish was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
North Knox's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Pike Central, they pushed their record up to 7-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
North Knox was taken down by Pike Central 58-27 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can North Knox avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
