Rapides' lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Christopher Newton, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The game was Newton's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Antwon Jones, who scored 6 points along with 9 rebounds.
Rapides' defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Mansfield, their win bumped their record up to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rapides will square off against Glenmora at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glenmora will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Mansfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Carroll at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
