Basketball Recap: Stephens Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Stephens extended their home winning streak to seven games thanks to a huge performance from Kason Powell. The Stephens Roadrunners blew past the Cornerstone Christian Warriors, posting a 79-34 win thanks in part to Powell, who went 11 for 15 on his way to 23 points. Powell is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 17 every time he's taken the court this season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Zane Lout, who went 5 of 7 en route to 12 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Stephens has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.6 points per game. As for Cornerstone Christian, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stephens will head out to challenge Arkansas Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Stephens' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 15 games. As for Cornerstone Christian, they are taking a road trip to take on Prairie View Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prairie View Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.4 points per game this season.
