The Brookwood Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Montevallo, falling 60-29. While losing is never fun, Brookwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 367th, while Montevallo is ranked 154th).
Brookwood's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Crummie, who scored eight points. Markeil Williams was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Brookwood has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for Montevallo, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Brookwood won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Demopolis at 6:30 p.m. on December 29th. Montevallo won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Northside at 4:30 p.m. on December 29th. Northside is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
