The Wilson Wildcats fell victim to the South Oak Cliff Bears''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 49-0 loss at the hands of the Bears. While losing is never fun, Wilson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 535th, while South Oak Cliff is ranked 24th).
Khalil Ewell went supernova for South Oak Cliff, rushing for 163 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. William Little was another key contributor, throwing for 144 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
South Oak Cliff's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB nine times. The heavy lifting was done by Brandon Jackson and Jamarion Phillips who racked up four sacks between them.
Wilson now has a losing record at 4-5. As for South Oak Cliff, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Wilson will head out on the road to face off against Kimball at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kimball is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for South Oak Cliff, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seagoville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Seagoville is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
