The Mt. Hermon Yellowjackets lost to the False River Gators back in December of 2023, but the Mt. Hermon Yellowjackets didn't allow the False River Gators the same satisfaction on Friday. Mt. Hermon came out on top against False River by a score of 54-46.
False River's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Karson Lacombe, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, and Matthew Graffeo who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds. Lacombe has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 21 times he's played.
Mt. Hermon has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-14 record this season. As for False River, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-17.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Hermon's road trip will continue as they head out to face Pope John Paul II at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th. Pope John Paul II presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mt. Hermon in Louisiana (Pope John Paul II is ranked 127th, while Mt. Hermon is ranked 380th). As for False River, they will head out on the road to challenge Livonia at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
